[Note: The Brazos River Authority
often releases water from Possum Kingdom Dam late at night, with levels
starting to drop by dawn and slowly dropping throughout the day. When
camping on the Brazos, keep in mind that the river may rise several
feet at night. When the flow is less than 100 CFS (cubic feet per
second) the river will be quite shallow in areas that normally have
small rapids or gravel bars. The 6 mile section between Worth Ranch
and Hwy 4 will have two spots where you will have to walk your boat
through a short shallow area at low water. The 14 mile section above
Worth Ranch has at least 5 shallow spots between the long pools at
low water.]
