Tiger Cub Adventure Day – Fort Worth
This event is designed to give new Tiger Cub Dens a fun activity with other Tigers to start their year with. Have fun, play games, and make crafts in a wonderful outdoor setting. A weekend of fun for the whole family at Camp Tahuaya! This is the first annual Rocket Academy. Fun for your entire Pack. Fee includes lunch, cost for rockets, BB, Archery, Games, Supper, and Campfire.

Every weekend in October, and the last weekend in Sept. A couple of hours skulking around the Longhorn Council's new-bigger-better haunted house, showing park patrons what real "Ghoul-Scouts" can do: and your entire group can enjoy Six Flags Over Texas. Must be 14 or older.

SCORE-O - At Sid Richardson Scout Ranch
The fall Orienteering competition - one of the Longhorn Council’s most popular events! SCORE-O teaches your boys to think and read maps while hiking in the woods. Hike at your own speed: go fast and compete, or just have fun and learn. Map training is held all morning. Your Den team gets a SCORE-O map one-hour before the race starts. Then you plan your strategy to find the most flags and score the most points in just 2 ½ hours! For teams of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, and adults. Everyone can enter!! Cub Scout camping IS allowed. We'll have a completely new 5-color orienteering maps for 2008 and three 400 gallon water buffaloes for water refills.

New for 2008: Score-O Mystery Competition! Find clues at many of the competition flag and solve the mystery!

Cub Scout Family FUN Day
at Texas Motor Speedway. The kickoff event for celebrating the 100th anniversary of Scouting! A fun-filled weekend of Cub Scout programs and activities. Cub Scout and Webelos dens are invited to join us for Cub Scout Pack family camping or just come for the day for outdoor fun and games. The annual Pushmobile Derby will be held at Fun Day.

Cub Scout Pushmobile Derby
at Texas Motor Speedway. The pushmobile derby will be held at Cub Scout Fun Day 2008. It is a race using cars built by a Cub Scout Den and their parents. The concept is for a den of 6 boys to build and race the car. There is No Fee; but all Pushmobile Derby participants MUST be registered participants in the Cub Scout Fun Day/Council Camporee.

CUB-O 2009 - At Sid Richardson Scout Ranch
It’s a fast and FUN orienteering competition at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. This is an event that teaches your boys to think while hiking in the woods. Map training is held all morning. Lunch in the Dining Hall is included. Family camping is permitted both Friday and Saturday on request. Over 1900 attended each year since 2004!

The purpose of the class is to train Cub Scout BB & Archery instructors for Day Camps and weekend programs. Trainees agree to serve as range officers at least 3 days at day camp, district or council events such as Cub Family Adventures, Fall Festival, Cub Shootouts, Webelorees. For every 3 days an Instructor runs a range at day camp, district, & council events they get one Range Officer Certificate from the camping registrar and can use the certificates to run BB and Archery programs at a Council camp for their Pack. This class is sponsored by the Cub Scout Day Camp Committee and the Activities Committee.

Council Annual Banquet and Annual Business Meeting
The banquet will feature the great accomplishments of the volunteers in the Longhorn Council. Special presentations will include the Silver Beaver Awards given for outstanding service to youth in the Longhorn Council.
Silver Beaver Award Nomination forms are due in one of the council office by 5PM on March 1st.
